Small Things Matter

"Small Things Matters is committed to educating children with an emphasis on reading which we believe lays down a strong foundation for educational success. We distribute free books to at risk-children at Difference Makers Kokua Foods food distributions at Rolling Terrace Elementary School and Takoma Park Middle School twice each month. Children are treated to a snack, read to, and encouraged to read to others. They are also allowed to choose a free book of their choice to take home to keep and read. We are in the process of developing a literacy program “Bedtime for Books” that will allow us to reach more children that would benefit from free books."

Difference Makers

"Difference Makers is a student founded, student run organization, founded in 2009 by a group of Takoma Park Middle School students."

This organisation has and helps out lots of projects including local and international.
